As a BioHotel member, you'll want to get to know all the perks, such as being able to book into the Automation lab, Diagnostic suite and Imaging Suite with Tissue Culture Lab. We also invite you to bring in and hook up any of your equipment to our IoT sensors, which are monitored by the Lab Operating System, Alfred, meaning you can check in on your experiments at anywhere at any time.

As a biotech startup, or scale up, the Unicorn Labs are ideal for multiple, interlinked or separate workflows. The lab spaces enable you to plan and implement parallel protocols in a unidirectional or linear workflow. The linked labs are separated with one-way doors and your samples are protected by positive and negative air flow to prevent aerosols from flowing in. This setup is ideal for any kind of PCR test, sequencing protocols using an OxfordNanopore. 

We understand that with an operation of your size, the lab needs to fit your whole team, as well as every part of your workflows. Unicorn Labs are fitted with separate, interlinked rooms for conducting parallel protocols in a unidirectional or linear workflow. 

Each of the lab spaces have a dedicated gowning room - a negative air pressured section of the lab where you’ll have access to freshly laundered lab coats and shoe coverings. These areas also house a glass wash and sanitisation station with a sink, glassware drying rack, managed waste facilities, and additional storage above the sink.

BioHotel Labs are ideal for working across a range of scientific disciplines including tissue culture, synthetic biology, diagnostics or therapeutics. Our team will work with you to create the ideal layout of your lab that houses all the right equipment and connect your equipment to our IoT sensors and Lab Operating System. This will monitor your experiments, allowing you to access real-time data at any time, from anywhere.

Across the multiple lab spaces, there is ample workbench space made up of large 1400mm x 750mm Trespa tabletops. We’ve fitted these with a magnetic backboard for storing any accessories and tools, an adjustable equipment shelf with power supply for of your small pieces of equipment (vortexes, mini centrifuges etc), large pull down cabinets where you can keep all of your media, reagents, equipment, consumables and more.

Our labs are entirely modular and adaptable and our team will work with you to design your workflow and integrate our equipment units into the space,  which can be reconfigured in the future as your protocols change and develop.
