The Calluses project

The Calluses project convergent classical workwear with new fabrication and customisation. Taking Callus as an inspiration and focusing on the knee area as it's one of the most exhausting regions on worker's trousers. This project comes with an alternative system for making and designing. Callus protective clothing is customised to provide the best protection and better longevity for each garment. Working with calluses knee pads, a bio-inspired product, to transfer behavioural body language into body mapping patterns. Identification is made before any problems arise, the 3D-knit calluses for each wearer are there to counter future damages and provide protection right from the beginning.
Mei Sze Tsang is studying an MA Fashion (Menswear) in the Royal College of Art; She is specialised in workwear and Chinese socialism fashion. At the same time, she is finding alternative solutions to make differences in the consumption world.
